Hi there! I am an Assistant Professor of American Judicial Politics at Texas Christian University (TCU). I completed my doctorate (American Politics, Methods) in 2022 at the University of Minnesota. I grew up in South Carolina and attended Coastal Carolina University for my undergraduate degree in Political Science and Communications. My research explores the relationship between the U.S. Supreme Court and the public, with particular attention to the role of the media in shaping how people encounter and interpret the Court. I examine how individuals develop knowledge of the Court, how perceptions of its legitimacy emerge and evolve, and how shifts in communication practices and institutional transparency affect these processes. I teach law-related courses at TCU, including Judicial Politics, Constitutional Law: Powers, Constitutional Law: Rights and Liberties, Introduction to Public Law, and Equality Under the Law (14th Amendment). In my free time, I enjoy cheering on the Vikings and Gophers, spending time with my 4-year-old twins and husband, hiking, eating good food, and playing video games. Feel free to contact me at [email protected]. |
